Young at Art, Student Art Show!!

Well... we did it!! With only four hours of prep time, we survived the biggest and best art show to date at the Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land! The show was incredible. I think the students were so excited and proud to see their art work displayed in such an amazing space with so many people there to view it. Thank you to all how helped with the set up and tear down of the show. It could not have been done without such amazing parents, family, and friends.

Here are a few pictures from our exciting day! Hope you enjoy!!

Hello Everyone!!

I am so excited to announce that my kids will be displaying their work at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land! The artists range from two to seventeen years of age, and their work is incredible and so inspiring. These kids are being given an amazing opportunity to show off their work to the public and they are so excited. I would love for you all to come to the show and support these kids and their talent.

The show is on Sunday, August 28th from 2-4pm. Discounted tickets will be available to the public at the museum entrance. Thank you for all your support. Come to the show and learn more about the amazing Little Wonders School that I teach in and see an incredible collection of works by my wonderful artist!

A new look on an old masterpiece!

A few weeks ago Sophia and her mom visited the Houston Fine Art Museum and saw the exhibit on classical european art.  With a picture in hand, she came into art class the next day and said that she wanted to paint Titian, which stunned us all.  So we sat together and she drew this very complicated piece. For a three year old, this kind of interest and determination was extremely impressive. A true artist in the making!

The following week she was able to start painting her masterpiece.
Check out her progress below!

New Pieces!

Some exciting new pieces are coming out this session! The kids are really refining their observational drawing skills.   Here is just a sneak peak of their great artwork!

A New Class!

We have started our En Plein Air class and everyone is doing a phenomenal job!  The kids were able to go outside and pick out their own flower to sketch, and then add a little pop of color.  It looks like the kids are having a lot of fun in this sketching class and are making great work along with it!

New Summer Session!

We have just finished our 1st six week summer session! For this next session we are making a few changes.  We now are offering a new class, En Plein Air!  This class is based on observational sketching that is created from indoor and outdoor images and, of course, we are still having multimedia art and fine art painting.  Another change you may have noticed is that we have not had an art show for this six weeks. This is because we will be holding one big art show at the end of the summer.  Also, instead of it being held at Little Wonders it will be held at an outside venue.  This is very exciting because your child’s artwork will be seen and appreciated by the public. We will be providing more information on the art show once we get closer to the end of the next session. For the mean time, we would like to invite you to check out the work your child has created this session in the art studio. The new art session began on Monday, July 11, 2011.  If you’re interested in signing up, just contact marjon!

Sincerely,
Marjon F. Aucoin  (& Emily Owens!)
